[31] Lease liabilities

Lease liabilities relate solely to finance lease obligations arising from sale and leaseback sub-lease transactions entered into up to 31 December 2017 for the financing of long-term leases with end customers.

Whereas lease liabilities stood at €740.6 million (31 December 2017: €1,131.1 million), lease receivables arising from sale and leaseback sub-lease transactions entered into up to 31 December 2017 amounted to €514.3 million (31 December 2017: €739.2 million) and leased assets under sale and leaseback sub-lease transactions totalled €268.6 million (31 December 2017: €419.7 million).

The amounts recognised as lease liabilities (the present value of future lease payments) are based on the maturities shown in > TABLE 099.
